SplitPerks helps people split the cost of subscription plans. We collect only what we need to run the marketplace — and we never ask you for a government ID or your bank details.

Who's responsible for your data

SplitPerks is operated by SplitPerks Inc., a corporation incorporated in the Province of Ontario, Canada, which is responsible for (and acts as the data controller for) the information described below. For any privacy question or to exercise a right, email hello@splitperks.com.

What we collect

  • Account — your name, email, and a password (or Google sign-in).
  • Wallet & payments — your wallet balance and transaction history. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Listings & messages — content you post when hosting or joining a group, and messages you send other members.

What we don't collect

No government ID uploads. No bank account numbers. To other members you appear only as your initials and rating — never your full name, email, or payment details.

How we protect it

Shared login credentials you store for a group are encrypted with AES-256. Authentication uses signed, httpOnly cookies. Access to your data inside SplitPerks is limited to operating the service and resolving disputes.

Service providers

We share the minimum necessary data with vendors that power SplitPerks: Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Pusher (real-time chat), and our cloud hosts. We don't sell your personal data. Some of these providers may process data outside your country; where that happens we rely on their standard contractual safeguards to keep it protected.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Most of this is self-serve — update your profile, export your transaction history, or close your account from your settings. For anything else, email hello@splitperks.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you believe we've mishandled your data, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and transaction records for as long as your account is open, and for a limited period afterwards where we're required to — for example to resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or meet tax and accounting obligations. Shared credentials are deleted when a group ends.
